* Design : Bigger Picture Show 7 - Pollock Poster //

* Happy to be invited to recreate the movie poster for Pollock, an artist who greatly inspires my work and creative process, in the 7th annual Bigger Picture Show. This years celebration of the design community in Indianapolis was a sinfully fun look at vices in cinema featuring 68 re-imagined movie posters organized by the seven deadly sins. All posters were available by silent auction at the Basile Opera Center on Friday, May 13, with all proceeds benefiting the Indy Film Fest. The Bigger Picture Show is an annual fundraiser created and curated by Lodge Design to support a shared experience around film//

* Speaker : Ball State University //

* Always enjoy visiting my Alma Mater Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana to speak and critique. Had a great time speaking and presenting my work to the design students. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and attended art school in the old art building built in 1934 on The Quad. There is a wonderful art museum that has been expanded to fill most of the building with a superb eclectic collection. The new art building has more space and modern amenities but I still find the majestic old building and gallery to be quietly inspirational, a sort of creative meditation//

* Travel : To the MAX!!! //

 * After a successful speaking engagement in Indianapolis at the Adobe Creative Jam I was invited to attend the Adobe MAX Conference in Los Angeles October 5 – 7. Seven thousand enthusiastic attendees came to be inspired, learn, network, party and hear about cool new Adobe technologies. I crashed at a hip penthouse loft downtown to be able to walk to the conference and explore the diverse urban landscape shooting photos. I also visited the expansive Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the brand new The Broad contemporary art museum, an awesome collection wrapped in astounding architecture. I had a wonderful time meeting so many creative, interesting people from speakers, Adobe folks to locals and left feeling extremely inspired. For more info about Adobe Max and to check out some of the presentations visit Adobe Max Online //

* Travel : Seeking Truth & Beauty in The Great Pacific Northwest //

* Spent an amazing week in The Pacific Northwest crashing on the couch of one of my oldest friends and mentor Darryl Brown, who lives in Newberg, Oregon and is a designer at George Fox University. We explored Crater Lake National Park and hiked the Oregon coast. I spent a couple days in Portland scouring vintage stores, design boutiques and the cavernous Powell's Bookstore. Also while in the city I enjoyed local beers with an old Indiana friend & great photographer Kurt Hettle and was fortunate to meet with another Hoosier transplant Brad Trost, a talented Art Director at the legendary ad agency Wieden + Kennedy, who graciously gave me a tour of the renowned office. I rounded out the trip driving to Seattle for coffee & conversation with Liz Pachaud of Honor Society Coffee to discuss potential branding work and met with the awesome in-house design team at Starbucks HQ to present my portfolio. //
