// COLLEGE AVENUE runs through the Broad Ripple Village Neighborhood six miles north of downtown Indianapolis and has had a long history of being an important transportation corridor from mule cars in the 1800’s to an interurban railroad, streetcars and trolleys in the 1900’s to a new electric express bus line in the 2020’s. Due to being a high traffic artery connecting downtown to the suburban Northside many intersections have long-standing business’s functioning as gathering places important to the fabric and history of the community. //

// RED KEY TAVERN, since 1933, was named one of Esquire's Best Bars in America May 9, 2007 “Since 1951 the bar’s late proprietor Russ Settle was famous for his list of ‘the rules’ that every patron must follow. No feet on the furniture, no chairs in the aisle, cash only, hang up your coat, use your indoor voice, don’t swear, and, most importantly, Russ is always right! // BINKELY’S KITCHEN & BAR, from 1928 until the early 70s, the corner of Kessler and College was home to Binkley's Drug Store, which served the booming Broad Ripple, Forest Hills and Meridian Kessler neighborhoods. Binkley's returned to serve these same neighbors as a restaurant, bar, and meeting place. //
