* 0202 : 2020 Ubiquitous Palindrome / Groundhog Day //

* today Sunday, February, 2nd 2020 is an extremely rare eight-digit “ubiquitous palindrome” that works whether you write the date as ( month/day/year ) or ( day/month/year ) internationally — it’s also Groundhog Day here in the United States where in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania ten’s of thousands gather at Gobbler’s Knob to see if a groundhog dubbed “Phil” sees his shadow meaning six more weeks of winter or doesn’t meaning an early spring — no shadow this year! //

* Exhibition : // Gestalt Alumni Exhibition // – Ball State University School of Art //

* honored to have been invited to participate in the Ball State University Gestalt Alumni Exhibition and speak to students in a panel of included artists. Awesome to see some of my work from the early 90’s to 2019 in The Ned and Gloria Griner Art Gallery in the Ball State University School of Art. I designed four posters specifically for the show to highlight my newest personal identity, branding and packaging for Lyon Distilling Co., A Monumental Affair architecture awards show branding with hand sculpted awards and a large 36 x 48 poster featuring 120 logos. In the display cases were dozens of business cards that are all part of larger branding identity systems I have designed on various materials using speciality printing processes over the years. The “How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying” has been a personal motto and favorite musical movie from 1967 which I was invited to design a poster for The Bigger Picture Show and silent auction benefiting the Indy Film Fest. I graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and it meant a lot after all of these years of hard work to be recognized and welcomed back to where it all began //

“In developing his new brand Funnel, Eric Kass sought to create sensorial business cards that would not only leave a memorable impression, but also illustrate his attention to detail, innovation, and quality. Each card featured tiny holes that could funnel light through and formed the constellation for his astrological sign Leo, which the reflective golden sheen also embodied. The cards irregular shape served to manifest his specialization in multidimensional packaging design”
